چکیده
Ageing, and increasing traffic loads, has become a major problem into today bridge industry. These bridges go deficiency in its Load Carrying Capacity from ageing, exhibited excessive deformation which renders the usage to an unacceptable level. will either, impose restriction, or upgrading existing defy these adverse conditions. At Burri Bridge, after 33 years on operation, signs of ageing showed departure deformed shape super structure design profile, travelling along was un-comfortable difficult trip riding. The Objective explore strengthening Bridge by using external post tensioned tendons mitigate effects elevate capacity bridge. It requisite examine before application insure stresses past status qualify it for repair. Hence, present study contains analysis superstructure two stages. first is done Past status, second when are added boost effect load level, new standard tested. model analyzed Midas Civil software. includes anchor beams where fresh terminated. proved that, increased 4.6 %, this interpreted increase Ultimate Flexural Strength decrease adding tendons. Some Techniques implemented presented.

ABSTRACT The majority of concrete buildings in the regions of high seismicity in Iran do not meet seismic code requirement, and many of these buildings are vulnerable in severe earthquakes. Concerns for seismic strengthening of concrete grew considerably in the recent years, and has been accelerated since the Bam earthquake 2004. This paper presents the results of experimental and analytical st...
متن کاملDrying and Cracking Effects in Box-girder Bridge Segment
This paper deals with the effect of drying as a moisture diffusion process in a segment of a typical box-girder bridge. Pore relative humidity distributions throughout the cross sections of the plates of the girder are calculated from the diffusion equation, taking its nonlinearity and aging into account. The effect of creep with aging on the stresses produced by drying shrinkage is taken into ...

Load Test and Model Calibration of a Horizontally Curved Steel Box-Girder Bridge
In this paper, full scale load test of a horizontally curved steel box-girder bridge is carried out in order to detect structural defects, which reportedly result in unwanted vibrations in nearby buildings. The bridge is tested under the passage of six heavy vehicles at different speeds, so as to determine its static and dynamic responses. A total number of one hundred and two (102) sensors are...
متن کاملOPTIMAL DESIGN OF NON-PRISMATIC REINFORCED CONCRETE BOX GIRDER BRIDGE: MINIMIZATION OF THE COST AND CO2 EMISSION
This paper presents a computational framework for optimal design of non-prismatic reinforced concrete box girder bridges. The variables include the geometry of the cross section, tapered length, concrete strength and reinforcement of box girders and slabs. These are obtained by the enhanced colliding bodies optimization algorithm to optimizing the cost and again CO2 emission. Loading and design...
